Located in Cape Range National Park, Boat Harbour Camp is accessible only by four-wheel drive (4WD).
The small sandy beach provides access to the ocean and Ningaloo Marine Park for swimming, snorkelling and launching canoes and kayaks.
Small boats can be launched but drivers are cautioned that there is a risk of vehicles becoming stranded in the sand.
The nearby Ningaloo Marine Park offers diving and surfing and the chance to see whalesharks, marine turtles and humpback whales.
Cape Range National Park also offers walking-trails and scenic lookouts.
Boat Harbour Camp itself features five campsites for tents, regular-size high-clearance 4WD campervans and high-clearance caravans or camper-trailers that can be towed on soft sand and are towed by 4WD vehicles.
Campfires are not permitted at any time. No fresh-water is available.
Bookings cannot be made.
Peak season is April (or from Good Friday when Easter falls in March) to October and there can be long queues, particularly during public and school holidays.
November to March is cyclone season: check for notification of parks closures.
Park entry fees apply at Cape Range National Park.
